What is Rural tourism?
Rural -tourism has been practiced by Europeans for several years but here in Latin America is a new trend that consists of visiting a farm or hacienda which gives you the opportunity to know the reality, history and charm of Ecuadorian country.

If you travel with Zoco you will know more about Ecuadorian farms and haciendas since rural tourism is one of our specialties.

Where does Rural tourism take place?
This kind of tourism takes place in Ecuador in the Coast (Lowlands) and Sierra (Highlands).

The difference between the Coast and the Sierra regions is huge. In the first one you will find calm rivers, warm climate and vegetation (including plantations of banana and cacao) as well as small simple wooden houses and Montubios (rustic men who live in farms in the Coast of Ecuador, Perú and Colombia). On the other hand in the Sierra you will see beautiful but dangerous rivers as well as rose plantations and old sophisticated stone houses with a lot of history, last but not least indigenous people who farm cattle.

Regardless which is your starting point in the Coast or Sierra regions Zoco can take you to an agro experience.
