| First of all you have to understand Ecuador’s geographical
division so you can take advantage of your trip. In Ecuador everything is close to everything, in spite of the four clearly divided regions. In the Galapagos islands you will find a nice warm climate and a variety of endemic species. In the Coast or lowlands you will be able to visit several nice beaches, a modern city such as Guayaquil and farms. In the Sierra or Highlands Quito, the capital city of the country, is located, as well as many nice indigenous towns, rivers and volcanoes. In the Oriente is the Amazonian rainforest with a great biodiversity and a humid climate all year long. The international air entrances to the country are Quito and Guayaquil. We recommend you start your trip from any of these two cities and look for travel advice (several operators and agencies will be found in both). Always try to book through a local tour operator since many hotels are not recommended in Ecuador and categories can be confusing. |
